Sharing You by Molly McAdams is a book I decided to read with heavy reservations. I have
really enjoyed some of her books, like the Forgiving Lies series, and extremely
furious reading some of the others, like Taking
Chances.
The short version of this story is Kamryn runs away from her
rich, pretentious family so she can liver her own life on her own terms. Brody
is in a marriage with a crazy woman he feels too bad to leave. Brody and Kamryn
literally run into each other and fall in love before they know anything about
the other person. They feel bad about what they feel for each other considering
Brody is still married, and we watch that unfold.
I usually enjoy stories that explore the dilemmas
surrounding infidelity, but this one was kind of boring. Brody didn’t love his
wife, or even like her. Kamryn didn’t have anything at risk other than her
reputation in a relatively small town. And while Brody’s wife was crazy,
threatening Brody’s finances, it seemed like she didn’t really have that much
she could really do. When it came down
to it, there wasn’t much at stake for either of the characters, especially
considering Brody’s family wanted him to leave his wife. Ultimately, the story
was a bit boring.
Has anyone else read any of Molly McAdams’s books? What did
you think? Inquiring minds would like to know.
