Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo ♡♡♡

Boarded by Love (Bellevue Bullies, #1)Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo is the first book I've read by this author. It's another book I got a great deal on by being notified by BookBub.

Boarded by Love tells the story of Claire and Jude. Claire has had a difficult past, and she's worked hard to turn her life around. Jude is his school's star hockey player and ladies’ man. One look at Claire and he turns into a one women man. But Claire has a secret that puts their new, intense relationship to the test. We watch to and see how they come out on the other side of all the secrets and lies

I had a lot of trouble connecting with the characters in the story. It started with the characters not using contractions, which was very distracting and pulled me out of the story. After that it just wasn't working for me. Claire made so many bad decisions, and the problems in the story were bigger than they needed to be. The writing was good and the premise had all the making a of a good story, but I didn't feel things with the characters; the stakes weren't high enough. Their joy and sadness were not made mine, and that is always the best part of a book, getting sucked in and feeling everything with the characters.

Boarded by Love has great reviews on Goodreads reads, so give it a shot and let me know what you think!

One Night by A.J. Pine ♡♡♡♡

One Night (Only You, #1)One Night by A.J. Pine is the first book in the Only You series. I have read other books by A.J. Pine so I was looking forward to starting this new series.

One Night is the story of Jess and Adam. Jess has a past she doesn't want anyone to know about. In an attempt to deal with her pain she is sleeping with a different guy pretty much every night. Kicking them out with a to-go coffee in the morning.

Until she meets Adam. He's one of the school's most popular basketball players. And he falls fast and easy for Jess. But she's a tough shell to crack, and Jess isn't the only one with a past.

I enjoyed getting to know these characters and watching these character figure each other out. The story deals a lot with guilt, and the difficulty of dealing with something that may not have been a person's fault.

I loved this story, and I can't wait for another story from A.J. Pine.

The Mistake by Elle Kennedy ♡♡♡♡

The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2)The Mistake by Elle Kennedy is the second book in the Off Campus series, and it was equally as good as the first book, The Deal.

The Mistake tells the story of Logan and Grace (similar to the Marked Men series, it is all the male characters who are connected, at this point in the series, they play hockey in college together). Grace and Logan meet on accident, and when Logan decides abruptly he shouldn't hook with Grace, she is not interested in giving him a second chance when he realizes he was wrong. But he's willing to do what it takes to fight for her.

This story and The Deal were pretty similar, but I really enjoyed them both. I like a story where the characters have to fight for what they want. We see Logan grow up a bit and we see Grace become spontaneous.

I hope there are more books to come in this series, because I would love a story from some of those other hockey players.

Who else is loving this series?

All Played Out by Cora Carmack ♡♡♡♡.5

All Played Out (Rusk University, #3)All Played Out by Cora Carmack was another great book in the Rusk University series. This is book three is the series, and if you liked the others, then you will enjoy this one too

All Played Out is the story of Nell and Mateo. We have met both before in previous books, and I was especially excited for this story because I had love Mateo. And getting to know Nell was great.

Nell is extremely focused on school, so much so that she is graduating college a year and a half early. In an effort to make up for all the normal college experiences she missed out on while studying, she makes a list of all the normal college things she wants to do in her last semester. Mateo is drawn to to her, and when he finds out about the list, he wants nothing more than to help her check everything off it.

The two come together with a bang, but they are both dealing with hang up a from their pasts. We get to see how they handle their insecurities which may just tear them apart.

If you've read the other books in this series, you should definitely check this one out. I think it has been my favorite so far! It was also really great to have a new adult book with a diverse main character (Mateo). There were not issues concerning his being Mexican, but I think that can be important.

#Nerd by Cambria Herbert ♡♡♡.5

#Nerd (Hashtag, #1)#Nerd by Cambria Herbert is the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed the story for the most part.

#Nerd is the story of Rimmel, a sophomore in college who is being forced by the Dean to tutor the star quarterback. Romeo is the ultimate playboy, with no desire to have a tutor.

But Romeo has no choice, and when the fraternity he's rushing tells him to sleep with Rimmel as past of initiation, he's not too excited about it. Neither Rimmel or Romeo want to have feeling for each other, but there's no stopping the sparks that fly.

I enjoyed the story and fell in love with the characters. Some of the writing felt a little stiff since we were in the minds of such young characters. There was also some overlap in the story because of the point of view change. I would have liked if there was less of that. I also wish there were less of the title used in the story. It felt forced.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, and I am looking forward to reading the next book #Hater.
