Excerpt:

He slips his hands beneath my dress as he continues to kiss me and skims his fingers along my thighs. I wrap my arms around his neck and hold him close, never wanting to let him go. He’s so strong, his body so hard and firm and muscular. I reach between us to finish unbuttoning his shirt, my fingers making quick work of the buttons until it falls open and I can touch his hot, smooth skin. I trace my fingers over his flat stomach, letting them drift down to the waistband of his pants.

I’m not feeling bold enough just yet to undo those pants though. I don’t want to rush this.

He runs his fingers up and down along the sides of my outer thighs and a shiver steals through me. His hands curve around, touching my ass and they grow still. I’m guessing he’s figured out I don’t have any underwear on. I break the kiss to stare up at him.

His eyes have a dark gleam to them and his smile is nothing short of gigantic. “You’re a bad, naughty girl, Luce.”

“I am? Why?” I ask innocently, even batting my eyelashes at him for good measure.

“You know why.” He shoves the skirt of my dress up to my hips, exposing me completely and he sucks in a harsh breath. “Look at you,” he says reverently, his gaze locked on the spot between my thighs.

The perv.

But hey, at least he’s my perv. For tonight.

A tiny part of me wishes I could keep him for all my nights.

Summer's Temptation by Ashley Lynn Willis ♡♡♡♡.5

Summer's Temptation by Ashley Lynn Willis is the first book in the Vandeveer University series, and I was hooked pretty fast. The book had me laughing, crying, and angry as hell. And I pulled an all nighter to find out what was going to happen.

Summer's Temptation tells the story of Cassie, who is getting over a recent heartbreak, and she's looking for a guy she won't fall for to take care of her needs. Tyler is the school player. He has a revolving door of girls coming in and out of his bedroom. He seems like the perfect guy for the job. There's no way she'll fall for him. Until, of course, she does, breaking all the rules she came up with to protect her heart.

I couldn't stop reading this book. Tyler was the guy every girl wants to change, and his player status made him the perfect guy for Cassie. I loved their interactions, their friendship, and their passion. My biggest complaint is they were both part of Greek life, and that Greek life sorts of things are likely to play an even bigger part in the next book. But I can't wait to read it. Unfortunately, I don't know when the next book will be out, but I can't wait to get my hands on it.

If you love a forbidden love story with an HEA, then this is the book for you.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy ♡♡♡♡.5

The Deal by Elle Kennedy is the first book I've read by this author. I am on some kind of sports kick. Three sport books in a row. And this one was awesome.

The Deal tells the story of Hannah, a music major looking to finally talk to her crush and Garrett, a hockey player who desperately need a tutor  so he can stay on the team. Hannah agrees to tutor Garrett if he can get her crush to give her the time of day. Garrett's plan works, but they Hannah and Garrett fall for each other in the process.We watch as they deal with all the issues of hooking up, dating, school, and family.

Initially, I did not like the story, but about 4 chapters in, after getting used to the dialogue and writing style, I was hooked. I enjoyed how feisty Hannah could be, but she was also shy and reserved. She was a very round character. And I loved that Garrett was a smart jock who was extremely sarcastic and a bit vulgar.

I will definitely continue reading more books in this series.

All Played Out by Cora Carmack ♡♡♡♡.5

All Played Out by Cora Carmack was another great book in the Rusk University series. This is book three is the series, and if you liked the others, then you will enjoy this one too

All Played Out is the story of Nell and Mateo. We have met both before in previous books, and I was especially excited for this story because I had love Mateo. And getting to know Nell was great.

Nell is extremely focused on school, so much so that she is graduating college a year and a half early. In an effort to make up for all the normal college experiences she missed out on while studying, she makes a list of all the normal college things she wants to do in her last semester. Mateo is drawn to to her, and when he finds out about the list, he wants nothing more than to help her check everything off it.

The two come together with a bang, but they are both dealing with hang up a from their pasts. We get to see how they handle their insecurities which may just tear them apart.

If you've read the other books in this series, you should definitely check this one out. I think it has been my favorite so far! It was also really great to have a new adult book with a diverse main character (Mateo). There were not issues concerning his being Mexican, but I think that can be important.

Asa by Jay Crownover ♡♡♡♡♡

Asa by Jay Crownover is the end of an era. The end of the Marked Men series. So if you're one of those people who want a whole series available to you before you start reading, get ready for a great adventure.

Jay Crownover was the second new adult author I ever read, and she has become one of my favorites. I waited to start Asa as long as I could, because I didn't want the stories of these amazing people to end.

Asa was a great story and the perfect ending to the series. I don't want to say much since I think so many things could ruin the story. Just know that it's a fast paced thrill ride of a story. Full of ups and downs as Jay's stories are. Asa and Royal are perfect. I live how they are both strong and vulnerable in different ways.

I am sad to series go, but I am excited for more of The Point and the upcoming series The Saints of Denver. I know she has many more great stories to share with us, and I'm sure I will love them as much as The Marked Men.

Thanks, Jay Crownover for a great series! I can't wait to see what comes next.

Third Degree by Julie Cross ♡♡♡♡

Third Degree by Julie Cross is a book I bought quite some time ago. I thought the premise sounded intriguing, but I kept putting off reading it. I was an RA in college, and I thought it would get the ways that worked wrong, and I thought the story about a prodigy going back to do college the “normal” way could come off weird. But I was completely wrong about everything.  

Third Degree tells Isabel’s story. She is a child prodigy, doctor at 19, but she can’t practice on her own due to some unforeseen circumstances on her part. So she goes back to college (undergrad) to experience the things she missed out on the first time around. She meets Marshall, her kind of off limits RA, who tries to help her gain all the experiences she didn’t have. And of course, they fall for each other. 

There are many things I would like to say about this book that I can’t because that would mean spoilers. But I’m not sure I have ever read a book like it before. It showed people that I could have known in college dealing with real problems (like disease, written in a way that is very real to the situation). And even though Isabel is a prodigy, she still deals with the emotions so many of us do when we leave home for the first time, fall in love, and go through family issues.

Julie Cross did a great job of taking an extraordinary girl , and showing how there are so many things that make her ordinary. 

Third Degree is a must read. I am going to find more books by Julie Cross to read now. There are lots!

Riot by Jamie Shaw ♡♡♡♡♡

Riot by Jamie Shaw is the second book in the Mayhem series. If you haven’t read Mayhem, then you need to as soon as possible, because these books are amazing. Thank you Jay Crownover for suggesting them.

We met Joel and Dee in Mayhem, and now we are getting their full story in Riot. Joel and Dee are all about hooking up with who they want when they want. When they start hooking up with each other, they seem to be with only each other. They like each other, but neither wants to take the next step, until one of them does.

I can hardly put into words how much I enjoyed Riot. The story was amazing. I loved the premise. And now I want a Joel of my own. I laughed and cried right along with the characters. The sign of the best books is when you can literally feel what the characters are feeling. That’s what I look for in books, and Jamie Shaw knows how to deliver.

You should read the Mayhem series as soon as you can. You are going to fall in love with these guys. And you are going to wish the girls were your best friends.

Mayhem by Jamie Shaw ♡♡♡♡

Mayhem by Jamie Shaw is a book I picked up because Jay Crownover said she loved it. That means I had to read it, because Jay knows best.

Mayhem  tells the story if Rowan, a college freshman who is about to experience heartbreak followed by an exhilarating weekend.

She ends up on tour with a band to tutor the devastatingly hot, playboy, lead singer Adam.He doesn't realize they've met before, and she doesn't want him to know that she's the girl he's been looking for since they first met. She's falling for him with each passing moment, but she knows he's just not the girlfriend kind of guy. And we watch and see what their crazy chemistry creates.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and everything that went along with it. There is no resisting a guy like Adam; Rowan never stood a chance.

I felt a bit disconnected from Rowan; I had a very hard time really empathizing with her. This might be because she seemed so set on keeping Adam at arm's length when she so badly wanted to be with him. She also had some weird things going on with her ex. But I still really loved the story!

If you haven't already,  give Mayhem a read. Just in time for the next, Riot,  book to come out next week!

Just a Little Crush by Renita Pizzitola ♥♥♥♥

Just a Little Crush by Renita Pizzitola is a book I came across while browsing Netgalley for new books to read. I’m so glad this book was on there, because it was amazing.

Brinely and Ryder went to high school together, and due to one humiliating moment, Brinely hates Ryder. She’s successfully avoided him for the first semester of college, but now their lives are colliding once again. Maybe Brinely doesn’t hate Ryder as much as she thought, but can she trust him not to hurt her again?

I really fell hard for this book, and maybe a bit for Ryder too! I didn’t want to put the book down; I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Would things work out? And everything came together so perfectly.

The few things I disliked weren’t huge. I do wish the story had been in present tense. For some reason the past tense for this book felt stilted. I also thought there were a few things that were predictable, and I enjoy surprises.

If you’re looking for a sexy good time with a pinch of heartbreak, then this is the book for you. It was difficult to watch these characters struggle through all their issues, but it made the end so much more gratifying. Give it a read and let me know what you think.

Upside Down by Lia Riley ♥♥♥♥♥

I’ve been waiting for Upside Down by Lia Riley to come out for so long now that I don’t remember where I first heard about it. Although I’m pretty sure it was from another author. But I have to say I enjoyed this book so much more than I though was even possible.

Upside Down tells Talia’s story. She’s dealing with the death of her older sister, her parents’ divorce, failing school grades, and OCD when she makes the trip to Australia for a semester abroad. There she meets Bran, a hot Australian who is far from having his life together. Bran and Talia embark on a strange dance around what they mean to each other; the outcome is a roller coaster ride of a story.

Normally, I’m not a fan of travel stories because the setting takes on the responsibility of becoming one of the characters. It takes time to get to know the place, to know who the place is, but that was not the case with this book. Lia Riley did an amazing job of making Australia feel as if it were any other place a book could take place, and maybe it’s because she lived there that Australia feels lived in as opposed to a new terrain the reader has to explore along with Talia. Lia Riley’s ability to do that really made the story the focus, and I loved that.

Bran and Talia were so flawed and so real there was no way not to like them. Especially Talia. For all she’s dealing with she is amazingly resilient. And the relationship between Bran and Talia felt real. I couldn’t put this book down. It was funny, heart wrenching, and made my heart burst with so many good feels.

Put down whatever you’re doing and go read this book! I can’t wait for the next one, Sideswiped! October is too far away. Let me know what you think.

A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers ♥♥♥.75

I almost didn’t read A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers, thinking I already knew how the book would turn out. But a few authors on Twitter were saying they loved to books. That was all the motivation I needed to dive right in. And I’m glad I did.

A Little Too Far tells the story of Lexie, a college junior about to spend a year taking art history classes in Rome. On the night before she leaves she sleeps with her stepbrother, Trent, who she happens to consider her best friend.  Good thing she’s leaving the country because Lexie isn’t sure she can handle what they did, thinking her friends and family will be disgusted.

In Rome, Lexie meets soon to be priest, Alessandro. He’s a young, Italian hottie, but, obviously, he’s already in a relationship the big guy upstairs. But with all the time Lexie and Alessandro spend together giving tours at the Vatican, there’s no denying there’s something between them.

We watch as Lexie tries to determine what she should do about wanting Trent, who is technically (and legally) an option, but may be the downfall of her family. And then there’s Alessandro, who Lexie may burn in Hell for tempting.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It didn’t go at all the way I was expecting. I won’t give it away, but you should read it and find out. I will say, I think the ending is a bit rushed. I really wanted to know what Lexie’s friends would say about the person she chose. Fingers crossed that we find out in another book in the series. The book also wasn’t as dark as I expected, which was a relief. I enjoy happy endings :)
