Sharing You by Molly McAdams ♥♥

Sharing You (Sharing You, #1)Sharing You by Molly McAdams is a book I decided to read with heavy reservations. I have really enjoyed some of her books, like the Forgiving Lies series, and extremely furious reading some of the others, like Taking Chances

The short version of this story is Kamryn runs away from her rich, pretentious family so she can liver her own life on her own terms. Brody is in a marriage with a crazy woman he feels too bad to leave. Brody and Kamryn literally run into each other and fall in love before they know anything about the other person. They feel bad about what they feel for each other considering Brody is still married, and we watch that unfold.

I usually enjoy stories that explore the dilemmas surrounding infidelity, but this one was kind of boring. Brody didn’t love his wife, or even like her. Kamryn didn’t have anything at risk other than her reputation in a relatively small town. And while Brody’s wife was crazy, threatening Brody’s finances, it seemed like she didn’t really have that much she could really do.  When it came down to it, there wasn’t much at stake for either of the characters, especially considering Brody’s family wanted him to leave his wife. Ultimately, the story was a bit boring.
Has anyone else read any of Molly McAdams’s books? What did you think? Inquiring minds would like to know.

What If by A.J. Pine ♥♥♥♥♥

What If (If Only..., #2)What If by A.J. Pine is the second book in the If Only…series. If you have not read If Only then go check it out. There are some big spoilers if you read them out of order, although if, for some crazy reason, you’re only interested in reading What If, everything should still make sense.

What If tells the story of Maggie and Griffin. Two years ago, Griffin fell for a girl who was in love with someone else. Since then, he has been distracting himself with women and drinking. He’s under pressure from his family to do what’s expected of him, but that’s not the life he wants for himself, but he doesn’t know what he wants for his future. That is until Maggie makes her way into his life. Maggie is dealing with the fall out of her health taking a turn for the worse. She doesn’t want to burden anyone with the responsibility that comes with loving her. But she can’t deny her feelings for Griffin.

I enjoyed so much about What If, it’s almost too much to put into words. The relationship between Griffin and Maggie was beautiful. They had their ups and downs, but so much of it felt like it could be two real people; that made the whole story so much more special. Maggie works so hard in the story to hide her illness from Griffin; I don’t think we get many characters who deal with something so big in a way that it doesn’t overshadow the story, and A.J. Pine did such an amazing job of writing Maggie with her illness without making it the basis of who she was, especially considering that is how Maggie often felt.

This book now takes up a special place in my heart. It gave me so many feels, and made me so tired from staying up late to finish it (Hello, 4am. It’s been a while). This is probably one of my favorite books of the year! Check it out and let me know what you think?

Title: What If
Author: A.J. Pine
Series: If Only #2 (Companion)
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

Sometimes it takes letting go of the past to find out who you want to be.

During his semester abroad, Griffin Reed almost gave his heart to a girl who loved someone else. Lesson learned. Now he’s home, where following in his father’s footsteps may not be what he wants, but it’s what his parents expect. It might be taking the easy road, but he doesn’t see a way out.

Something that could have killed Maggie Kendall took away the person she used to be instead. Her condition makes her dependent on sticky notes, photos, and medication just to get through each day. The last thing she needs is a distraction—or someone new to disappoint.

What they refuse to see is they are perfect for each other. Maggie makes Griffin want to be a better man, and he makes her believe a future is possible. But these two have to find a way to share the secrets ripping them apart, if they’re ever going to have a chance at happiness.

About the Author
A.J. PineAJ Pine writes stories to break readers’ hearts, but don’t worry—she’ll mend them with a happily ever after. As an English teacher and a librarian, AJ has always surrounded herself with books. All her favorites have one big commonality–romance. Naturally, her books have the same. When she’s not writing, she’s of course reading. Then there’s online shopping (everything from groceries to shoes) and, of course, a tiny bit of TV where she nourishes her undying love of vampires, from Eric Northman to the Salvatore brothers. And in the midst of all of this, you’ll also find her hanging with her family in the Chicago burbs.

AJ's debut New Adult novel, IF ONLY, is out now with Entangled's Embrace line. The companion novel, WHAT IF, releases December 8th. Next year look for her new duo of New Adult books, ONE NIGHT and ONE LIFE with Penguin/Intermix.
