Tryst by Alex Rosa is the first book I've read by this author. The book came up as a recommendation from Goodreads, and I decided to give it a try.
Tryst tells the story of Skyler, who is moving in with her big brother. He has one rule: don't get involved with Blake, his roommate/best friend/model. Neither one of them seems to know how to follow that rule.
This was a very well written story, but reading it, I didn't feel anything. Watching the relationship between Blake and Skyler blossom was nice, but things heated up quickly, and a big brother doesn't seem like the stakes are high enough. The story also seemed more like a bunch of sex scenes with a little bit of story in between. I would have liked to know more about Skyler's friends and her crazy ex who seemed to always loom in the background, but didn't really pop back up.There needed to be more story here, more background information, more Skyler outside of her interactions with Blake, more Skyler with her friends, pretty much everything except sex.
I would definitely read another book by this author, but maybe "forbidden" love isn't really my thing.
What do you think?
