Wild by Sophie Jordan ♥♥♥♥.5

Wild (The Ivy Chronicles, #3)

Wild by Sophie Jordan is the last book in the Ivy Chronicles series. It may also be my favorite in the series, so I’m a bit sad to see them end. I’m hoping for more awesome new adult books from Sophie Jordan in the future. I should start with a reminder that even though we get three different stories throughout the series, there are spoilers for the first two books if you haven’t read those first, so they should be read in order.

Wild tells Georgia’s story. She’s known in the friend group as the predictable one. When her boyfriend of four years breaks up with her because he feels she is boring, Georgia decides to spend the summer exploring her wild side. Logan is willing to help her with letting go. But Logan is a freshly graduated from high school, too young, and doesn’t fit in with the plans Georgia has for her future. And worst of all, he’s sent the few years sleeping his way through most of the girls at Georgia’s college. She can’t be much different from them, can she?

This was a wonderful story about letting loose, finding love, and learning to be your own person. Logan and Georgia’s relationship is tumultuous, but the hard work is worth it. They kept a lot of secrets from many people, and it was interesting to see a story where someone so young (Logan) help someone older discover who they are. I would say read the whole series, but Wild was definitely my favorite.  Let me know what you think!

Tease by Sophie Jordan ♥♥♥♥

Tease (The Ivy Chronicles, #2)Tease by SophieJordan in the second and penultimate book in The Ivy Chronicles series. And I think it was even better than Foreplay.  There’s still plenty of sexual tension, but I felt there was just something more to this story.

Tease is the story of Emerson and Shaw. Emerson is going to school as an art major, spending her time with pretty boys, and appearing to be the epitome of fun. Shaw has recently returned from a tour in the Marines. They’re both dealing with some crappy family issues (Shaw’s whose go unresolved in this story). Shaw refuses to give up in his pursuit of Emerson. And Emerson is doing everything she can to push him away. Will she give in to the pull she’s feeling?

There was a lot of back and forth in this book. I would think Shaw and Emerson were finally going to happen only for them to fall apart all over again. The story really keeps you on your toes. And we learn some big secrets Emerson has been keeping from everyone. The only complaint I have is that I don’t feel we get to know Shaw very well. We learn things about him from his actions, but we don’t get much background about what he was like before the Marines.

I’m really glad I picked up this series. I’m looking forward to the next (and last) book in the series, Wild. I’m also glad the author is sticking with the main three girls. There’s something more intimate about getting to know them all from everyone else’s perspective and then from their own. Let me know what you think. Happy Reading!

Foreplay by Sophie Jordan ♥♥♥.5

I bought this book on a whim, despite the cover (which made the book seem as if it may be a little too steamy for me). But Sophie Jordan’s Foreplay was just what I needed after reading a book I didn’t enjoy.

Pepper is a who knows what she wants, 2.5 kids, a great job helping people, and her best friend’s brother, Hunter. And when Hunter finally breaks up with his girlfriend of two years, Pepper and her friends decide virgin Pepper may need a lesson or two on what guys want. The perfect role for Reece, a local bartender with a bit of a (mistaken) reputation.

As Pepper grows closer to Reece, she finds out he’s not the person she thought he was. She has to decide if she wants her dream guy or the guy who actually makes her feel something. To me, the decision was always clear.

The story has a lot of heart and emotion. Even as I was frustrated with Pepper, I felt for the pain that was her past, and how that affected her future decision making. Overall, I enjoyed the book, and I’m looking forward to reading more of the series once it comes out.
